Well, I am not going to write about this hypothetical character whose nose grows when he lies and shrinks when he speaks the truth, I have given this title just to relate it with MP Civic elections going to be held between 11th to 14th of December.
I really wonder, if this Pinocchio legend really works, two category of people will have the longest noses, first POLITICIANS and second STUDENTS but I am very sure the formers will outpass the latters. Whenever these elections descend, our so called political leaders go home to home and "TEND TO" empathise with the people. Once votes casted, it becomes a long forlorn history. None the less, atleast these elections lead to proper maintenance of Hygiene factor for a few days atleast. I think I am deviating from Pinocchio.
Just imagine a leader giving a speech, making promises " I will do this, I will do that" and all of a sudden his nose starts to bug the microphone. Wow!!! we won't need lie detector tests then. It would be for good. Also there will be genuine tax collections and deductions. This is just the pros.
The cons will be:
-Students will have to submit assignments on time ( because their lie can be easily caught and they can not claim for a headache, or nausea or viral fever or what so ever)
-Marketing people will have a tough time selling their products. ( They won't be able to lie)
-There will be no gossip ( the life would be so boring then, the masala newspapers will hardly be able to flourish).
- The people who make the RED HERRING Prospectus will have a huuuuuuuugggggggeeeeeeeeee nose.
-There will be frequent break ups because the lies would be caught at the instant.
-The toughest time will be for those fairness cream manufacturers who claim to whiten your skin, they will have the category of people having third largest noses.
Drop in your comments if you have any idea, who will cater to next categories.
Enjoy

This strike ain't going nowhere
The stir between Jet Airways and National Aviators Guild finally settled when Jet decided to take back the sacked pilots. But the stir between Government and teachers is ain't going anywhere, indeed it is getting worse day by day.
First it was only a half- day strike till 14th of September but now the faculties will not presume their work untill or unless all their demands are met regarding implementation of sixth pay commission. The strike is now " indefinite" in terms of its tenure.
Government has been rigid and truly is unfair on its part regarding not implementing the 6th pay commission here in M.P when other states' Government employees are gaining benefit out of it. Also, the strike began at the time when its peak for studies. I am in III semester and I know we have placements coming right ahead, but becuase of this strike, the exams are likely to be delayed and hence the scheduled placments will suffer.
In all of it, only and only Students are suffering. We are having no colleges to attend, we can not go back to our home town as it is impossible to predict when is it going to be called off. We are being punished without being guilty. Its being almost 10 days now that we are sitting here in hostels waiting for colleges to begin but as many people are saying "its going to take time".
Are we also supposed to sit on a strike, but against who? The Government which has turned a deaf ear or the teachers who have forgotten responsibilities towards student or against 6th pay commission?

Media's Media
A decade before, when I was a little kid, my dad used to sit infront of the TV set, take remote control from us and listen to those news readers on Doordarshan between 8:30 to 9:30. First in Hindi and then in English. The news that time was concise, precise and relevant. But today we have so many news channels running 24x7 showing the same news, repeating the same dialogues and making news out of practically nothing.
I was changing channels a few days back & stopped at a news channel out of amazement because it was giving a news " Obama killed a house fly". They showed a clip that how Obama mercilessly murdered a house fly when the fly was interrupting him while giving the interview. Another example is a breaking news "Sugna ka Pati mar gaya" ( Sugna's Husband Died). I am not much a TV freak so I didn't knew who was sugna. Then my mother told me she is a character in Balika Vadhu. I can give many examples where these news channels try to make news even when there is none. Well its not their fault, they have to somehow keep things going on becaue there can't be something happening 24 hours.
On the other hand. media has done a remarkably great job in times of natural calamities, war situations where they have kept the common man updated about each and every move. But is this enough to cover what they do rest days? These news channels mislead most of the time. Take the surat gang rape case, the journalist showed that the convicts had orkut profiles with " Danger is my play, risk is my game" written and they both joined a community called born to lead. But there can be 1000s of people with that same thing, so are they rapists too? They use sentences like " Shiney ne naukrani ki izzat looti". They have forgot the decoram of public speaking and on top of it , they repeat it a thousand times.
Most of the channels brag about themselves, as an example of it when a news channel kept on broadcasting " XYZ (news channel) ke kaaran bachi prince ki jaan".
These channels can use the time they have in educating people, letting then know about their responsibilties and rights as citizens of India.
Media is mirror of a country. So , its necessary to keep it sparkling.

Who is to be blamed?
My hello to all Indians
I have adressed this to all Indians because there has been something going in my mind which is quenching my soul from within. I am 21 years old and is there anything I have done? I haven't been a good daughter, I havn't been a good lover and moreover I haven't even being a good Indian. There have been times that I have hurt my parents by over-hearing what they wanted to tell me, I haven't been a good lover because I refused to give up my ego for his love and I haven't been an Indian itself, good or bad has to be considered later.
Not only I, there are millions of people like me who come out of their homes, do what they have to and go back without even a slightest guilt of what they have done. Take for example, people throw garbage here and there. They make the place dirty and there are not one, not two but millions like them out there. Just imagine if a million people come and throw garbage in your drawing room, how are you going to react? Such thought hurts and infuraites. But we , INDIANS, do it everyday, every hour and everytime without even caring that this is my house but no, it isn't our house, its our country. And we, INDIANS, we do it and then we blame our municipal corporations for what we have done ourselves. It's we INDIANS who bribe government officers and then shout at top of our voice of the increasing corruption. Give it a thought that this CORRUPTION came to being only because we wanted it to and it will exist untill we want it to. Even the thought of untaxed income gives us relief, so who are we to blame corruption. Its we who support it.
We blame our government, but do we really have to blame our government because the so called "Literate and Learned" don't go to vote. Rural percentage of voting has been many times greater in numbers as compared to urban percentage. We MBAs, engineers, doctors sit back and enjoy holiday at the day of election and then blame government for what it has been doing and what it has not been doing. We have no right to do so because the brain of the country lies asleep in its cozy blanket and renders its nation paralysed. The country has the largest workforce but we still lag far behind other countries. We say our politicians are illiterate but honestly ask yourself, how many of us wish to join politics. I want to, but I am a girl, so I am not even allowed to think of it even.
We don't follow traffic rules and then blame the traffic police for the increasing accidents. We forget that traffic rules are meant for us only not for that traffic cop who has no interest whether you live or die.We recieve many SMSs on valentine day, dewali, holi but we forget republic day and we call ourselves INDIAN. We recieve education here and there give benefits somewhere else.
We all Indians are similar to those who ruled us before 6 decades. We have exploited our motherland for our benefits and still we blame our country for week political system, for corrupt practices, for low literacy levels, for declining female population, for pollution, for population and for everything. The list is endless.
I dont know who is to be blamed but it hurts.

~~one more time~~
A thought just went through my mind
and I looked at myself.
Stole a moment of quiet and kind
and thought I wish I could cry
one more time.
Days and years have flown away
and here I stand, gathering
my emotions which were torn away.
And thought I wish I could live
one more time.
Shattered dreams and pain of life,
and here I am, lonely and sad
in the fight of my own strife.
And thought I wish I could die
one more time.
and I looked at myself.
Stole a moment of quiet and kind
and thought I wish I could cry
one more time.
Days and years have flown away
and here I stand, gathering
my emotions which were torn away.
And thought I wish I could live
one more time.
Shattered dreams and pain of life,
and here I am, lonely and sad
in the fight of my own strife.
And thought I wish I could die
one more time.
